Overview
There is a low pressure system over the Great Lakes Region & NE U.S. with a cold front stretched South, along the Atlantic coastline. This low will continue to move East/NE bringing snow and rain to affected areas. A broad ridge of high pressure is over the Central Plains and slowly drifting East. A Canadian low that is just North of our area has a front stretched south (just west of the Dakotas).

Discussion
Under the influence of a broad ridge of high pressure, we will continue to see plenty of sunshine (mixed with in & out clouds) through the next several days. Today, temps were above average and (coupled with sunshine) allowed for some of the snowpack to melt. Where melting was abundant, expect water to refreeze tonight. The tail end of a front will move through the Northern Plains through early Thursday morning. Though we are expecting clouds to move over the Dakotas tonight, the chance for snow will be low. If anything, a few passing flurries are possible. I am expecting little to no accumulation associated with tonight's front. The high to our south is continuing to develop and will remain a dominant feature on the map through the rest of the work week. It is actually creating an environment that is not conducive for further development of the front (the front is breaking up). Cloud cover will still move across our area and some light snow/mix will also be scattered across parts of our area. However, any precip totals will be very low (around a trace of accumulation for some).

Tomorrow, skies will clear out and the ridge of high pressure will continue to bring plenty of sunshine to our region. In the wake of this passing front, we will be in the "warm sector" of our next system. this means that a gradual warming trend will continue and bring temperatures well into the unseasonably warm range through the next several days.

Through the rest of tonight & ThursdayOvernight we will see increasing clouds with a chance for a few flurries. The passing front will move East and out of our area during the early morning hours. Temperatures will fall well into the teens. This means that much of our area can expect a refreeze as temperatures fall well below the freezing mark, through the 20s and into the teens. Chills will be in the single digits for most of the area.
Tomorrow, early clouds will dissipate through the morning revealing plenty of sunshine in the wake of our departing front. Temps will return into the 40s as a warming trend continues.

 7day planner
As a front moves through the area tonight, expect more clouds with a few flurries possible. The rest of the work week will bring continued warming temps with plenty of sunshine and in & out clouds. Temperatures will climb into the mid 40s by Friday & Saturday. Precip chances stay low through the 7day planner with no significant accumulation expected this week. If anything expect the snowpack to continue melting with unseasonably warm temps.
