Overview
There is a low pressure system along a cold front, over the mid- Atlantic coastline. This system is bringing a risk for severe weather to affected areas. A broad ridge of high pressure is over the Central & Southern Plains. A weak cold front is stretched through the Great Lakes region and back into the Northern Plains.

Discussion
Across the area today we saw sunny skies with unseasonably warm temperatures and winds becoming breezy at times. Today, high temperatures were mainly in the mid to upper 70s. Northwest North Dakota, saw a few lower 80s & the Eastern half of the state topped out on either side of 70. Williston was the warm spot on the map at 82 and Sidney reached 81.

A weak cold front is stretched through the Dakotas and not very apparent. Tonight this front will transition to a warm front and move East through North Dakota, before fizzling out tomorrow. With a warm front moving through the state, temperatures will climb to either side of 80 Wednesday and well into the 80s by Thursday. Continued clear skies with a few clouds and low rain chances will remain the theme through the next few days. By Friday a ridge of high pressure will begin to give way to an approaching cold front. Expect increasing clouds, rising rain chances and a change in temperatures.
Headlines include plenty of sunshine with some light, in & out cloud cover during the next couple of days. Temperatures will warm into an unseasonably warm range before highs top out well into the 80s to wrap up the work week. Our forecast will mostly be rain free until we go into this weekend.

Through the rest of tonight & Wednesday
Expect mostly clear skies with in & out clouds and winds calming. Temperatures will fall through the 50s and into the 40s across the state. Wednesday will start off with a cool feel, plenty of sunshine and light winds. Through the day, abundant sunshine and a passing warm front will bring warmer temperatures with winds swinging around to the South.

7day planner
The next few days will bring more sunshine with warming temperatures. Wednesday, a warm front will move through the state bringing in & out clouds followed by even warmer temps. Our next chance for rain will be late this week, going into the weekend as a cold front moves through the area. This front will bring a brief cool down, followed by another chance for rain toward the beginning of the work week.

Tonight, expect mostly clear skies with a cool feel. Lows 38-47 with a North/SW wind 2-10mph and calming.

Wednesday will bring with it another round of sunshine with a few passing clouds and a pleasantly warm feel. Highs 75-85 with a SE/South wind 2-10mph.

Wednesday night, mostly clear skies and mild. Lows in the 40s with a few 50s and a light wind out of the South.

Thursday, we will see plenty of sunshine with a few clouds and unseasonably warm temps. Highs in the 80s with a south wind 5-15mph and a little gusty at times.

Thursday night, expect fair to partly cloudy skies with mild temps. Lows in the 50s with a South/North wind 10-20mph, becoming gusty.
