Overview
There is a low pressure system over the Dakotas that is moving East, into the upper- Midwest. This system is not very strong and will continue to redevelop. A cold front is stretched East along the Ohio River valley and over the Atlantic Ocean. A Warm front is stretched into the Southern Plains. Elsewhere, a broad ridge of high pressure is over the Southeast US. A weak cold front that is associated with a clipper is over Western Canada and moving toward the Northern Plains.

Discussion
Across the area today we saw partly to mostly cloudy skies with in & out clouds and seasonable temperatures. The next couple of days will bring continued gradual clearing with light winds for the most part. The almanac shows that in Bismarck/Mandan, there was a high of 64 and a low of 45. The high temperature was 20 degrees warmer than yesterday. In Dickinson there was a high of 59 and low of 40. Today's low temperature was the same as yesterday's high.

Across our region, there is a low pressure system over the Dakotas that is continuing to fizzle out. The remnants of this system will remain over the area until our next front moves through the Dakotas and clears the air. Just to our south, a low pressure system over South Dakota and moving East as it develops. The counter-clockwise rotation of this system is causing an Easterly flow across North Dakota. In & out clouds will continue tonight & Tomorrow. Wednesday night, a weak cold front will move through the Northern Plains and bring low rain chances into the forecast. However in the wake of this system, expect a wind shift to the West & NW with in & out clouds as it passes over our area.

Headlines include a low pressure system that will fizzle out over the Dakotas.
We will see low rain chances with some light drizzle possible in areas of fog. Also, patchy fog may become dense for some and we will continue to see clearing skies tomorrow.

Through the rest of tonight & Wednesday
We will see developing fog, beginning around Midnight. Temperatures will not fall much and bottom out in a cool range with only a few areas seeing drizzle where fog is present. Tomorrow, we will start off with some fog that will lift up and burn off through the morning. The rest of the day will bring in & out clouds, resulting in plenty of sunshine and slightly warmer temperatures than we saw today.

7day planner
We will see another round of developing fog tonight with a few areas of drizzle. By Wednesday, clearing skies will continue followed by a weak front. Wednesday night we will see in & out clouds with low rain chances. In the wake of this quick moving system, we will see even more clearing with mild temperatures. The latter half of our work week will bring some warming with plenty of sunshine and drier air before our next chance for rain. This weekend looks nice with winds becoming breezy and another system moving through the Dakotas Sunday & Monday. This system toward the end of our 7day will bring higher rain chances.

Tonight, expect partly to mostly cloudy skies with some clearing and developing fog over parts of our area. There is a low chance for a few a few isolated showers & areas of drizzle. Lows 33-43 with East winds swinging around to the SE and becoming light. 10% chance for rain.

Wednesday, expect early fog before 10 to lift up and burning off by Midday. Through the day we will see in & out clouds resulting in mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies and there will be a pleasant feel. Highs 65-75 with an East/NW wind 2-12mph.

Wednesday night we will see in & out clouds with a low chance for some scattered light rain as a weak cold front moves through the area. Lows will be on either side of 40 with a NW wind 2-10mph.

Thursday, expect plenty of sunshine with some light clouds and temps still above the seasonable norm. Highs 64-70 with a NE wind 5-15mph.
