Overview
Scattered clouds and a few light snow showers are over parts of the Northern Plains. There is a developing low pressure system that is over the Central Plains. Elsewhere, broad ridge of high pressure is stretched across the East coast. A weak trough over the Dakotas continues to dissipate and is transitioning into a stationary front.

Discussion
A weak trough will continue to move through the Dakoats and bring with it more clouds. Otherwise, no major features will change our weather pattern through the next few days. Temperatures today climbed well into the mid to upper 20s across Western, ND and most of the state (outlying temps include a few teens on the low side and lower to mid 30s in the SW corner of the state).
| Today's Observed High Temps |
Mild conditions will remain in the forecast with temperatures around/ just above seasonable through the end of the week (avg 23/2). Expect gradually increasing clouds with daytime temperatures topping out in the 20s & upper teens through the end of the week. As more clouds move into the Dakotas, there will be a chance for isolated flurries across the state. Thursday night scattered snow will move into Western, ND and begin to accumulate through the day, Friday. Friday's snow will be scattered and light. Accumulations will range from 1"-2" with most of the state in this range. Isolated areas could see a little more new snow. Nevertheless, accumulations will be light and headlines from this event are mainly focused on temps. A very cold air-mass will bring temperatures well below zero with winds picking up in the wake of this front.
| Forecast Wind Chills Sunday Morning (GFS) |
By Saturday & Sunday morning wind chills 25-35 below zero (feeling even colder for some) are possible. High temps will gradually climb back into the teens through the beginning of the work week.
